Week 43 Notes
I have been on vacation this week and spent my time with my family in Anglesey getting soaked, lots of outdoors fun, warm clothes, fireside food and drinks kind of week. Loved it and feeling refreshed. I didn't spend much time near a computer at all so a short update.
I did work on some writing for the blog, lots of reading, a few bits of house keeping and some workflow improvements but more on that in next weeks post. For now I am enjoying the rest of the vacation.
A couple of things I have found interesting
- The agile comms handbook - Giles Turnbull - Twitter came alive with tweets about this book which is a reflection of the kind of people I follow and Giles' reputation. I found the book enjoyable, a good read, simple and clear. The key messages are pretty obvious to me these days, but it may not be to many others so I hope many people outside of the echo chamber read it. I have recommended it to a number of people I think would gain value from reading it. This book combined with Show Your Work! a book by Austin Kleon (a permanent fixture on my valuable desk real estate) are a brilliant duo and have some overlap.
- 13 Minutes to the moon - BBC Podcast which is stunning. It's one of the best things I have ever listened to. The first season is about Apollo 11, season two is about Apollo 13. It has something for everyone and is spine tingling good. I enjoyed listening to these with my 7 year old boy who was fascinated.
